Orega Co-founder To Cycle From Geneva To Milan In Aid Of Charity

Orega provides world-class, flexible office solutions for businesses of all sizes in 11 centres across the UK. Alongside their commitment to creating productive and inspiring workspaces, Orega has also supported its employees in their fundraising efforts in the UK and further afield.

This summer, Orega management and staff will engage in a fundraising campaign for 1moreChild, a small charity dedicated to providing food, care, education and constant support to some of the world’s poorest children at their hubs in the slum village of Masese, Uganda.

Whilst it has been difficult for Orega to pick just one charity to support, the company feels by concentrating efforts on a smaller organisation they will be able to make a visible difference to lives of children that really need their help.

Refreshingly, 1moreChild insists that 100% of money donated or raised goes directly towards the 160 children they look after currently.

Leading by example is Orega’s co-founder, Zachary Douglas, who is swapping his shirt and tie for lycra and a helmet. Starting June 12, Zach will embark on an intense cycling challenge from Geneva to Milan with Ride25, an organisation set up by Rob Hamilton, founder of office broker Instant Office. Ride25 offers unique challenges to cycle from UK to Australia, one leg at a time. This particular leg, the ‘Pioneers Challenge’, is entirely dedicated to raising money for 1moreChild.

Zach is 1 of 125 riders set to cycle 350 miles in just 4 days. The team will ride an average of 88 miles per day and battle an uphill climb through the Nufenen Pass - the second highest mountain pass with a paved road in Switzerland.

Back in the office, the rest of the Orega team will be organising events at each of the centres to raise as much money as possible for this worthwhile cause.
