Art of All Ages Fundraiser to Honor Bonnie Lowenthal on June 7th

LONG BEACH, Calif. - May 13, 2014 - PRLog -- Comprehensive Child Development, Inc. (CCD) is celebrating 30 years of serving the Long Beach, San Pedro, and Wilmington communities. To help celebrate this milestone, CCD is holding its fourth annual fundraising event, “Art of All Ages,” on June 7^th, 2014 from 4:00 -7:00 pm in the Duncan Anderson Design Gallery on the campus of CSU Long Beach. This event will honor Assemblymember Bonnie Lowenthal for her years of service and recognize special guests Rich and Pat Archbold and Damon Dunn for their dedication to Comprehensive Child Development.

The event will feature artists David Early, Christine Nguyen, Cecilia Miguez, David Gilmore, and many more in their silent auction/reception to raise funds to support families served by the organization. Works by these artists and many others will be featured along with colorful and original pieces created by the children of CCD ages 3-5. CCD is also seeking local businesses and community members to sponsor the event to help us raise $30,000 to celebrate our 30^th year of service.  We will be holding an “open house” art day with the children on May 22^nd at 3:15pm at 2565 Pacific Ave., Long Beach, CA 90806 with local artist and Art of All Ages participant Helen Cox painting with the children. Comprehensive Child Development, Inc. was founded in 1984 to provide quality early childhood education and care to some of the most disadvantaged families in Long Beach, San Pedro, and Wilmington. Today we operate five childcare facilities, support 18 family child care homes, and oversee 690 nutrition programs at family childcare homes throughout Greater Los Angeles. We serve 7,700 children daily and are one of the largest nonprofits serving the Los Angeles Harbor Communities. The families we serve are homeless, unemployed, low-income/working poor, or student families in desperate need of our resources. We provide high quality child care and support parents growth to help create self-sustaining families for our community.
