Any interested media please RSVP for details. Comprehensive Child Development, Inc. was founded in 1984 to provide quality early childhood education and care to some of the most disadvantaged families in Long Beach, San Pedro, and Wilmington. Today we operate five childcare facilities, support 18 family child care homes, and oversee 690 nutrition programs at family childcare homes throughout Greater Los Angeles. We serve 7,700 children daily and are one of the largest nonprofits serving the Los Angeles Harbor Communities. The families we serve are homeless, unemployed, low-income/working poor, or student families in desperate need of our resources. We provide high quality child care and support parents growth to help create self-sustaining families for our community. “Thanks to the support I received from CCD, my daughter received a great preschool education and I was able to finish school and find a good-paying job as a surgical technical at a local hospital.” - Natalie “I was able to take classes through ROP and Goodwill while my son went to preschool at CCD. I now work part-time, and we recently moved from a homeless shelter into our very own apartment.” – Diana “My son and I were homeless, but found housing at the Villages at Cabrillo. Thanks to CCD’s Cabrillo Center, Anthony received care and education five days a week – plus a healthy breakfast, lunch, and snack each day. I knew he was safe and cared for, which allowed me to find work and eventually leave the Villages for our own apartment.” – Katrina End
