Honorees Announced for GA Music Awards

ATLANTA - May 13, 2014 - PRLog -- The GA Music Awards, scheduled for June 14th at the Buckhead Theatre in Atlanta, announce today the honorees for the 2014 GA Music Awards, industry icons Millie Jackson and Ellis Hall. With just over 100,000 votes for the nominees, the forecast for ticket sales is good, and the Buckhead Theatre will come alive with fan support.

The GA Music Awards chooses the honorees based on their overall achievement in the music industry overall and in Georgia in particular. Both honorees have provided a significant contribution to music and are being honored for having distinguished themselves as professionals.

Millie Jackson is a charismatic and multi-talented entertainer, who is without a doubt a music industry icon who's often criticized career paved the ways for many of today’s forward female recording artists and entertainers. In addition to her musical prowess, she is an actress of television and film, and a successful playwright. Her stage play "Younger Man, Older Woman", based on a song of the same name, was a box office success with a four year run. Jackson continues to chart her own course and still wows audiences internationally.

Ellis Hall, "The Ambassador of Soul", is a prolific performer with a career spanning over four decades. The declared protégé of the legendary Ray Charles, Hall has also written, performed and recorded music for hundreds of television and film projects. He most recently performed with The Boston Pops, headlined the Kennedy Center on New Year’s Eve and continues to entertain audiences worldwide with his symphony show, “Ellis Hall Presents: Ray, Motown and Beyond”.
