May 12, 2014 - PRLog -- Projects and programs by their very nature create change. How you manage the impact of change is a key component to realizing of the strategic benefits of your project.  This session will discuss effective behavioral change management techniques and provide you with the a basic knowledge of change management, so that you anticipate and manage resistance. Effective change management involves anticipating what in the organization is changing, who is impacted, and how they'll feel about it. Change - more specifically, transition - is a process. Understanding the process can help you navigate it faster and more successfully. Planning for change and transition will take the guesswork and panic out of communications down the road.

Steve Pinckney, MBA, PMP, PROSCI

Steve is the Founder and Owner of Conceptia, a global management consulting and technology services consultancy that provides project management, organizational change management and solution development services to clients in the investment banking and Oil and Gas industries. He has managed projects for a number of investment and commercial banks. When working at Implementation Solutions, Steve led a number of major projects and was project manager on a large scale Investment Management System (CRIMS)  implementation for Charles River in Sydney, Australia. He has a BS in Computer Science and a MBA in Accounting & Finance. Steve holds a Change Management Certification in Prosci methodologies and tools and is a member of PMI (Project Management Institute) and the ACMP (Association of Change Management Professionals). Carla Fair-Wright, PMP, CSQE, MCTS

Carla is an experienced project manager and a regular lecturer on project management. A Senior Project Manager in the Information Technology Department at Chevron, she has an extensive background in software development, project management, training, and consulting. Carla is the chapter author of two books, 'Encyclopedia of Energy Engineering and Technology' and 'Case Studies and Applications of Web Based Energy Information and Control Systems.' She has appeared on FOX News, PMI Podcast, Terri Craig Radio Show, BusinessMakers Small Business Network Show and has been featured in the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) magazine, Maintenance Technology, STEMINST, and CODE Magazine.  Carla is the past President of Society of Woman Engineers (Houston) and a recent recipient of the 2014 Regional Emerging Leader award.
