Gerry Quigley Announces Perth Tour with The Shinkickers in July 2014

PERTH, Australia - May 12, 2014 - PRLog -- Former Perth Musician/Teacher Gerry Quigley, who returned to his homeland of Ireland at the end of 2012 after 30 successfull years on the Perth music scene, returns to Perth in July 2014 for one long weekend of shows with his long-running blues/rock and originals band The Shinkickers.

The Shinkickers have been an all-time favourite on the Perth local music scene since their beginnings in 1991 and when they hit the stage in Perth once more the band will feature a very special lineup of both original and past band members.

Gerry grew up in Dublin in the 1970's in a musical family where rock and roll was a way of life.  Running home from school to see legendary blues/rock guitarist Gary Moore rehearsing in his lounge room with older brother Pat Quigley; watching countless early band rehearsals in the Quigley family home by Irish rock gods Thin Lizzy and private guitar lessons with legendary Thin Lizzy guitarist Eric Bell are just some of the childhood memories Gerry cherishes and remembers like yesterday.

Such influences in Gerry's childhood certainly set the standard and Gerry is renowned for captivating audiences with his spectacular guitar wizardry, and his ecclectic collection of instruments including electric guitar, acoustic guitar, slide guitar, mandolin and a unique double-neck mandola/bouzouki.

We are not surprised to hear that Gerry is busy making his mark in Ireland once more and following the success of a recent debut show at The Rochestown Inn in Cork City with the Ireland lineup of his band, Gerry Quigley and The Shinkickers are not only holding onto their No.1 place in the Reverbnation Blues Charts for Ireland, they've moved up 4 places on the worldwide Blues Charts to No. 112.  This beats their previous best global ranking of just a few days ago, and is the highest global ranking ever acheived on the Reverbnation Blues Charts by Gerry Quigley & The Shinkickers.

WIth a change of country in 2012 and collaboration with driving force Druidstone Media, it's no surprise that Gerry Quigley continues to move from strength to strength with his music.  We look forward to giving Gerry a warm welcome when he returns to Perth in July 2014 for one long weekend of shows to celebrate 23 amazing years of rockin' with The Shinkickers.
