Employer (Verizon) withdraws objection after employee retains law firm of Imbesi Christensen

A client of the law firm Imbesi Christensen received notification that he can continue to receive New York unemployment benefits after his employer withdrew its objection after receiving notification that the law firm was retained. Case # 01411118.

NEW YORK - May 12, 2014 - PRLog -- Attorney Anu Lazarre, an associate of the law firm Imbesi Christensen, successfully represented an employee who received notification that his former employer, Verizon Corporate Services ("Verizon") requested a hearing objecting to the his entitlement to unemployment benefits.

After receiving notification that the law firm was representing the employee, Verizon withdrew its request for a hearing.  The Honorable Lisa Badner issued an award, in favor of the firm's client, which granted the Verizon's application to withdraw its hearing request.

DECISION: The employer's application is granted.  The initial determination is continued in effect.  The claimant is allowed benefits.
