-- Every year beginning three to four weeks before the scheduled start of Ramadan (holy month of fasting for the Muslims) the Baitul Salaam Network, Inc. announces its annual online fund raiser. The organization has been successful in meeting its fund raising goal each year for the past five years. This is accomplished by getting all of their regular volunteers to assist in handing out letters and or postcards with a short message about the groups activities and asking people to donate.
The organization this year has set a goal of $30K to be raised beginning June1, 2014 through August 1, 2014. People who want to support the fund raiser this year have been given a choice of the following ways they can assist the group: (1) Donate money (any amount they can afford) to the organization. (2) Donate old clothes (to include coats and jackets, shoes, purses and belts. (3) Participate in the Plank Challenge (an exercise similar to a push up). (4) Donate toys/gifts and or gift cards to the Sixth Annual National Eid Toy and Gift Drive 2014 or donate scrap metal (aluminum, brass, copper, electrical wire, steel, iron, car and truck batteries, aluminum cans, stainless steel, radiator, condensers and catalytic converters.
