"Cry the Darkness" Honored at International Paris Book Festival

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. - May 10, 2014 - PRLog -- Dr. Donna's Friess' best-selling "Cry the Darkness: One Woman's Triumph Over the Tragedy of Incest," H.I.H Publishing, 2013, 2nd edition, won Honorable Mention, in the category of Non-fiction, against hundreds of competitors. Donna will travel to Paris for the May 27th Awards Dinner.

This gripping autobiography describes the chilling legal battle she and her sisters endured to stop their father from continuing to molest his four year-old granddaughter. The story takes the reader on an eerie journey back to the turn of the last century as it uncovers the cultural and familial secret of incest. The successful outcome of this case helped to impact change in both state and federal laws to protect women and children. "Cry the Darkness" is a classic in child abuse prevention literature.

Donna has followed up "Cry the Darkness" with her latest book "Cherish the Light: One Woman's Journey from Darkness to Light", the intimate story of her life after the legal battle. The book  is the follow up memoir to "Cry the Darkness" and focuses on finding light after trauma and choosing Happiness over Hurt.

Both of Donna's books are available in print and Kindle versions at Amazon.com and her website drdonnafriess.com.
