NEW YORK - May 10, 2014 - PRLog -- During the day Edwin Wong is an advocate for small and medium sized businesses and not for profit clients,  supporting their goals of growing their businesses  and organizations,  as a relationship manager at a global commercial bank.  After work hours he volunteers his time and supports various not for profits and personal interests.

As a former participant in the 72 Hour Shootout,  Edwin understands the influence of film and media in dispelling / reinforcing stereotypes,  increasing cultural awareness and expanding appreciation of diversity (and lack thereof in the film and media industry).

With that said , Edwin will focus efforts to support the Film Lab and its production arm by:

(F) undraising, (I) ncreasing awareness, (L) everaging  relationships, and (M) otivating others to get involved

While completing his MBA at Fordham University's Graduate School of Business, Edwin established the Fordham Asian Business Network . As an alum, he established Fordham Fridays (MBA alumni networking).  During his undergraduate studies at  the State University of New York at Buffalo (UB), he created the curriculum and  was an instructor, for the first Asian American Studies course in the School's 150 year history at the time. He also established the Asian Club at his high school.

Always a sharer of knowledge and tips, Edwin recently created and is currently presenting a “crash course” for newcomers to NYC entitled, "Welcome to America  101 - Bridging Cultures, Connecting Everyone" The presentation aims to help corporate professionals visiting or transferring from overseas offices, as well as , International students coming to  NYC/US for the first time,  on how to adapt to NYC/ American culture.    The presentation is also relevant for anyone visiting NYC and even for local residents.

"We are so excited to have Edwin on board, no pun intended, " quipped Film Lab President Jennifer Betit Yen.  The Film Lab has also elected its Officers for 2014, including Daryl King as Secretary and Aurora Betson as Treasurer.
