NEW YORK - May 10, 2014 - PRLog -- On May 13, 2014 at 7PM at 7 Rehearsal Studios, in the heart of the New York City Broadway district, with the staged reading of The Bottom a/k/a Easy Money, audience members will have a chance to question the relevance of the original title - The Bottom vs. the plays former title, Easy Money.  The play written by Cinti Laird, whose cast is African American, once saw an AEA Showcase performance at the legendary Lambs Club on West 51st Street. Reviewed then by Barbara F. Leavy, a theatrical reviewer and literary scholar who compared aspects of the script, to the writings of Tennessee Williams' Pulitzer Prize Winning play, A Streetcar Named Desire.  Gregory Holtz, Sr., Jimmy Aquino, Cinti Laird, Betty Vaughn, Angela Trotter and the incomparable Steve DePasse all appeared in that first Actors Equity Showcase at the Lambs.  Incidently,  Unveiling of The Bottom a/k/a Easy Money at the Lambs where she also largely developed the play, marked the first time that an African American Female, Cinti Laird of Cinti Laird Productions, ever produced a professionally approved Actors Equity Association Showcase at the formerly all male blue bloods Lambs Club, a/k/a The oldest theatrical society in America.  Initial development also included readings at Nuyorican Poets Cafe and Abingdon Theater Company

Following a recent New York University appearance at the Tisch School of Arts, NYU Alumni Script Critique Group, where excerpts of The Bottom a/k/a Easy Money were well received, the May 13th staged reading will represent the first full-length public presentation since the long ago Lambs Club AEA Showcase performance.  The current cast in order of appearance consists of Rhonda Hansome, Kristen Browne, Emmanuel Elpenord, Porsha Summerville, Dominic Marcus and Ryan F. Johnson.  Valerie William is hosting.  Tickets are $20 on Event Bright and seating is extremely limited at 7 Rehearsal Studios on the second floor of the 777 Eight Avenue, in the heart of the Broadway Theater district where the staged reading is scheduled to take place at 7PM on May 13, 2014.  For tickets and to read the review by Barbara F. Leavy visit:
