EL MONTE, Calif. - May 8, 2014 - PRLog -- El Monte, CA – Mayor Andre Quintero with the El Monte City Council in collaboration with Montebello Housing Development Corporation {MHDC} will host a FREE Home Rescue Fair to help provide free information, tools and resources for El Monte and surrounding city homeowners struggling with their mortgage payment to understand their current mortgage situation.

Professional Home Mortgage Lenders from Citibank, Fannie Mae, Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, Chase and Bank of America have been invited to be on hand to assist and answer questions. Bi-lingual counselors will be on hand to assist homeowners as well. Meet Home Mortgage lenders, industry experts and attorneys. Workshops will also be available throughout the event in English and Spanish. Know your Foreclosure Options and how to safeguard against fraud.

If you are facing foreclosure or know someone who is, please attend this informative Home Rescue Fair. This may be the first step towards saving your home.

Robert Monzon, MHDC Executive Director, said “Homeowners will be offered free financial counseling; alternative resources and information from housing counselors, industry experts and attorneys available to assist families.”

“Whether it is out of fear, anxiety, or shame, many homeowners facing foreclosure do nothing until it’s too late,” said Monzon. “Our goal is to get distressed homeowners to face their situation head on, as hard as that might be, and to provide a path to anyone seeking a resolution to their financial problems.”

The event will be held 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, May 10th at the El Monte Crippen Senior Center Center at 3120 Tyler Avenue, El Monte, CA 91731. Free parking is available!

Recent media and industry reports indicate the housing market is slowly rebounding.  However, with many homes still falling into foreclosure, California’s foreclosure rate remains one of the highest in the nation with thousands of homeowners in pre-foreclosure or bank-owned homes.
