By: Information Security Forum

NEW YORK - May 8, 2014 - PRLog -- According to the Information Security Forum (http://www.securityforum.org) (ISF), a global, independent information security body considered the world's leading authority on cyber security and information risk management, with cloud-based systems come natural security challenges. The decision to use cloud-based systems should be accompanied by an information risk assessment that has been conducted specifically to deal with the complexities of cloud systems, the data that will be stored in the cloud, associated privacy regulations and the needs of the business. It should also be supported by business processes that ensure the necessary safeguards.

Most organizations rely on a standard set of solutions that enable day-to-day operations, including outsourcing and cloud offerings. It’s right they should – there’s no point in reinventing the wheel every time – and it’s also only normal to expect that the drive to cut costs and increase value will push non-core business processes out of the organization. Growing hyperconnectivity will lead many organizations to increase their dependence on these accepted solutions. However, they will become increasingly unreliable. So are you as a business prepared with alternatives if the things you’ve built your trust around come crashing down?

During this webcast, Steve Durbin, Global Vice President of the ISF, will examine the key areas of potential vulnerability regarding cloud storage, providers and data management, providing expert insight into how to manage these vulnerabilities to ensure the maximum benefit and minimum risk. Please register via this link (https://www.brighttalk.com/webcast/9923/105733) for the free webcast which takes place on Wednesday, May 14 at 8 a.m. (ET). A recording will be available following the conclusion of the event.
