OC Affordable Housing Awards honor 3 out of 4 S.L. Leonard & Associates' clients' projects
Jamboree Housing Corporation was honored as Project of the Year in the Large Development category for its Birch Hills Apartment Homes development in Brea, which provides a total of 115 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartment homes. Jamboree also won Project of the Year in the Innovative Development category for its Park Landing Apartments in Buena Park. Park Landing features a unique and expansive green roof above the parking area, which provides more than 20,000 square feet of outdoor recreational space. As construction manager on both developments, S.L. Leonard & Associates provided assistance with constructibility reviews, selecting contractors and negotiating agreements, as well as coordinating the value engineering processes, negotiating change orders and running weekly construction meetings.
The Project of the Year in the Special Needs Development Category went to AMCAL Multi-Housing Inc., A Community of Friends & Foundation for Affordable Housing for its Vista del Rio multi-family housing community in Santa Ana specifically designed for residents with physical and developmental disabilities. S.L. Leonard & Associates worked with A Community of Friends to help with the preconstruction, contracts, construction management and development of the Vista del Rio Apartments.
The annual Affordable Housing Awards celebrate the accomplishments of those who create and develop affordable homes in Orange County. The four categories for Project of the Year include large, small, special needs and innovative development.
