Wadokan Dojo of Tomball Aikido Announces Black Belt Promotions

 
HOUSTON - May 6, 2014 - PRLog -- David Galdamez, Chief Instructor/Dojo Cho, of Tomball Aikido announced the promotions of Pete Murphy and Sebastian Ruocco.

Sebastian Ruocco was promoted to the rank of Ni Dan (2nd Degree Black Belt) and Pete Murphy was promoted to Sho Dan (1st Degree Black Belt) on Saturday, May 3, 2014.

Sebastian first started training Aikido in 1995 at the age of 16.  At this time he lived in Argentina and trained under the direction of Ricardo Corbal Sensei (6th dan), whose school was under the technical supervision of Yoshimitsu Yamada (director of USAF in New York).  He had a knack for training children and was the head of the kids program at his school, as well as teaching the morning classes for the adults.

Pete started his martial arts career ay 8 years old by studying Judo. He continued to practice Judo off and on for the next 6 years, 3 of those years he studied in Okinawa Japan.  Pete continued his martial arts journey through his 3rd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do.  During this time he became a trainer for the Saudi National Tae Kwon Do team, with 5 Olympic medalists. He coached 4 junior Olympic TKD teams.

Both Sebastian and Pete have significant careers in martial arts and represent over 50 years of training.
