Follow on Google News | Local superman will fly high for charity in aid of wife’s illnessA local Borehamwood man is planning on jumping out of a plane - for his wife.
Rob says, ‘It was a time of extreme highs and lows. After Ariella was born we were absolutely thrilled, but then Michelle was diagnosed with RA (rheumatoid arthritis) and we were left devastated by the news’ He adds, ‘I am so incredibly proud of her. She is in constant pain and struggles every day, but she never complains, she just gets on with it’ Rob tells us that he feels ‘completely powerless’ as he watches his wife battle daily with her condition. So he is taking to the skies to take part in a tandem skydive to support the national charity NRAS (National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society) and raise funds to help find a cure. There are 690,000 people living with Rheumatoid Arthritis and funds raised by the NRAS aims to improve the lives of each of those suffering. Rob, a Recruitment Consultant for local company Accountancy Action, has already raised over £350 and with the skydive date of May 17th looming he is hoping he can double that. Eldest daughter Jessica, 8, said ‘I am very proud of my Daddy for raising so much money for charity’ The skydive is in Brackley, Northants on Saturday 17th May.
