SCS Engineers' Pat Sullivan Elected to Vice Director of SWANA's Landfill Gas Technical Division

May 5, 2014 - PRLog -- SACRAMENTO, Calif. --- SCS Engineers (http://www.scsengineers.com/) announced that Senior Vice President Pat Sullivan has been elected to serve as the 2014-2015 Vice Director of the Solid Waste Association of North America’s (SWANA) Landfill Gas (LFG) Technical Division. Sullivan’s election follows his previous position as Chairman of the Rules and Regulations Committee, where he served for more than 10 years.

SWANA is the leading professional association in the solid waste field, serving more than 8,000 members throughout North America, as well as offering regular conferences, certifications, publications, and technical training courses.

As Vice Director, Sullivan’s responsibilities include member recruitment, keeping members informed of legislative updates and new developments in the industry, preparation for WASTECON (an annual major solid waste industry-focused conference), and planning the annual LFG Symposium.

After a two-year stint as Vice Director, Sullivan will move into the Director role for two years and then continue as the Past Director for an additional two. The entire six-year period includes positions on the LFG Division’s Steering and Executive Committees.

Sullivan has more than 24 years of experience as an environmental scientist at SCS, specializing in solid waste-related issues especially LFG, air quality and greenhouse gas (GHG) issues. He is the Director of SCS’s consulting and engineering operations within the Southwestern United States, the largest of SCS’s engineering and consulting business units. He has served many years as an active member in several industry organizations including SWANA, the National Waste and Recycling Association, the Air and Waste Management Association, the Waste Industry Air Coalition, and Solid Waste Industry for Climate Solutions. Sullivan holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Harvard University.
