By: SPARQ STREET Communications Elaine Tan Comeau, 2014’s Mompreneur of the Year, knows all too well how hectic daily life can be juggling kids, a growing business, homework, family obligations and yes, household responsibilities. As the founder and CEO of Easy Daysies, a visual magnetic scheduler for kids, she likens herself a bit of an expert on how to plan and manage everyday tasks so everyone in the family is involved and pitching in. “It’ Since laundry consistently rates as the top chore most moms hate, here are three of Elaine’s simplest tips to help combat the dreaded laundry pile: 1. Time-Saving Sorting Tip - Eliminate sorting by using several baskets or hampers (darks, lights, delicates, sports, donate). No need to sort when you can just take clothes off and put them in the respective hamper. Kids like doing this too, especially if they can slam-dunk their clothes into the correct hamper! 2. Conquer the Missing Sock Saga! - Clip them together or have family members fold over the top of socks so that socks are paired up prior going into the washing machine. Or have kids play the match the sock game when the laundry is done. Kids can put thier own clothes away and you can help them by labeling with cute labels…like Easy Daysies ReStickables. 3. Folding Laundry Can be Fun! Folding laundry should be done as a relaxing activity... great to do as a couple in front of a PVR'd movie or favourite show. Most clothing that ends up in the laundry pile are not really dirty or else have been cast aside for a preferable colour or style during the daily selection process. Teach kids to put away clothes they can wear one more time or will not be donning that day. It keeps clothes in better condition, is great for the environment and saves you time and money.
