LOS OLIVOS, Calif. - May 5, 2014 - PRLog -- Bill and Jan Sanger, founders of The Sanger Family of Wines, are pleased to announce that Rick Morrison is the company’s new National Sales Manager, overseeing sales and development for its three labels, Consilience, Marianello, and Tre Anelli.

“Rick Morrison is the perfect individual to fill this position and we are thrilled that he is part of our team,” Sanger says. “With his years of sales experience and nuanced understanding of the modern wine market, he will extend our reach into every part of the country.”

Morrison recently wrapped up two years of working with the V2 Wine Group, where he was national sales director, on-premise, and called on accounts on behalf of Qupé, Torbreck, Quivira, La Follette, and other wineries. He joined V2 after serving as the national sales manager for Qupé/Verdad Wine Cellars for a decade. Before his career in wine, he was a sales executive in the music industry.

With The Sanger Family of Wines, Morrison’s goal is to work with winemaker Brett Escalera and the management team to not only increase production and distribution, but also to generate consumer awareness and demand for the Mediterranean grape varieties at the heart of the Sanger portfolio. "We have an unparalleled opportunity to further establish these great brands—Consilience, Tre Anelli, and Marianello,” Morrison says. “I’m eager  to take our wine portfolio to the next level.”

Based in Los Olivos, Sanger Family of Wines was formed in March 2014, when the Sangers, the founders of Marianello, acquired Consilence and Tre Anelli. All three Santa Ynez Valley wineries are dedicated to producing balanced, vibrant wines that reflect both the exceptional fruit of that region and the traditional winemaking techniques that inspired them. The Consilience wines focus on the grape varieties found in France’s Rhône Valley, such as Syrah and Viognier, while Tre Anelli is built on the varieties grown in Spain and Italy, including Albariño and Barbera. The ultra-premium Marianello wines are a tribute to Sanger’s Italian grandparents; the signature Cielo Rubio was inspired by the Super Tuscan Sangiovese-based blends, while the Estelle Bianco shares the spirit of the lively white wines of Northern Italy. All Sanger wines are intended to accompany the robust cuisine of California’s Central Coast wine country.

“Consilience and Tre Anelli are currently available in a few select markets, primarily on the West Coast,” says Morrison. “The moment has come to get these great wines placed in high-profile accounts throughout the country.”

To that end, the Sangers have begun rebranding Consilience and Tre Anelli, and will begin bottling with new labels in June. New websites for each brand will also be launched at that time, and will serve as an information source for consumers and the trade, as well as an on-line retail channel for every Sanger release.
