HONOLULU - May 4, 2014 - PRLog -- US Med Urgent Care Pearl City invites people to help celebrate National Occupational Safety and Health Week (NAOSH), May 4 – 10, 2014. The NOASH goal is to focus employers, employees, partners and the public on the importance of preventing injury and illness in the workplace, at home and in the community.

In the U.S., nearly 50 workers are injured every minute of the work week. Though savings from safety education in the workplace may be hard to quantify, it is important.  The American Society of Safety Engineers knows from data and anecdotal information that investment in a Safety Health and Environment program is a sound business strategy, for any organization regardless of size, and will lead to having a positive impact on the financial bottom line.

US Med Urgent Care Pearl City Medical Director and Occupational Medicine Specialist, Dr. Brandon Shirai, states, “We urge everyone to get involved in NAOSH Week in an effort to better educate the public about the positive benefits a safe workplace provides not only for workers, but for their families, friends, businesses, their local communities and the global community.”

US Med Urgent Care Pearl City offers a new level of managed care for Occupational Medicine and Workers’ Comp patients. Dr. Shirai explains, “We work to ensure that each patient is returned to an active, productive life. From work-related car accidents to falls on the job, we understand that an early, accurate diagnosis is vital. Our goal is to save companies and employees time and money while providing essential care."

Melissa Bojorquez, US Med Urgent Care Pearl City Community Liaison, is arranging special tours for companies during the week. She says, “We invite companies to call and schedule a private tour. They will meet our staff and learn how our new personalized Occ Med Services and Workers’ Compensation Program will save them money and help to build and keep a healthy workforce.”

To schedule a tour, call Melissa Bojorquez at 808.778.2752 or Paula Subia at 808-456-2273.
