Grantham Honors Those Lost While Serving by Sponsoring Inaugural Run for the Fallen at Fort Hood

FORT HOOD, Texas - May 2, 2014 - PRLog -- Following the tragic events that recently occurred at Fort Hood, the inaugural Run for the Fallen (http://www.hoodmwr.com/running_events/register/) Saturday will be an especially poignant event. “Fallen, Never Forgotten” honors the fallen soldiers of the base and their families through 10K, 5K, 3K and 1 mile routes. Grantham University, a 100 percent online university that specializes in “Serving Those Who Serve^®” is one of the event’s exclusive sponsors.

“We have a large student population at Fort Hood and saw this run as an opportunity to show our students they have our full support - both in the classroom and in their daily lives,” said Grantham’s president, Joseph McGrath. “The service members honored by this event have made the ultimate sacrifice, and this is just one small way we can show our gratitude.”

Between 2,000 and 5,000 members of the Fort Hood area and its surrounding communities are expected to participate. Race participants will have the opportunity to honor the fallen soldier of their choice by writing the name on their race bib. On-site registration begins at 7 a.m., and the first wave will begin at 8 a.m.
