Avenida Guadalupe Association celebrates 35 years of service to San Antonio's West Side community

In its 35th year of fulfilling promises to bring commerce and jobs to the community, Avenida Guadalupe Association is kicking off a new capital campaign seeking millions in support.
SAN ANTONIO - May 1, 2014 - PRLog -- Join Avenida Guadalupe Association (http://www.avenidaguadalupe.org/) and San Antonio's District 5 Councilwoman Shirley Gonzales, along with the local community, thisMonday, May 5th at 11:00 a.m. in celebrating Avenida’s 35 years of fulfilling many promises to bring commerce and jobs to to the West Side San Antonio community. With emphasis on the most recent construction projects, the Promesa Project, which began in 2008.

Avenida Guadalupe President & CEO, J. Oscar Ramirez, will kickoff the celebration by announcing the Avenida’s $1.35 million Capital Campaign.Which will fund core Avenida programs and services as well as finalizations on the Promesa Building.

The Avenida Guadalupe Association’s Promesa Project has been a vital part in the strategic effort to revitalize the west side community and is valued at over $4.5 million dollars and promises to bring over 40 jobs to the area. The creation of Guadalupe’s business corridor has been vital to many existing small local businesses and has already caught the eye of many entrepreneurs looking to set down roots.

Please join the Avenida at 11am, on Monday, May 5th at 1314 Guadalupe St. (the Heroes Plaza stage) and be a part of the celebration.

A special announcement by one of Avenida’s major donors will also be a part of the festivities.
