COMMUNITY 5K Race Raises Funds to Build New Churches
The COMMUNITY 5K Run/Walk Race on June 21 in Downtown Plainfield, Illinois raises funds to support NewThing, a church planting organization partnering with Community Christian Church.
The COMMUNITY 5K Race route is flat and fast, winding through the park and around Ira Jones Middle School, ending at Settlers’ Park Pavilion.
“It’s a great first race for beginners and a fun run for more experienced runners,” says Race Director Kelly Chapman. The race starts in Settlers’ Park in downtown Plainfield, 24403 W Lockport St. The kids’ 1K begins at 7:30 AM, and the adults’ 5K begins at 7:45 AM. The cost for kids to participate in the 1K is $20; cost for adults to participate in the 5K is $30. Registration is now open online at www.community5k.org.
Road Runner Sports is a proud sponsor of the COMMUNITY 5K and is awarding each male and female winner with a new pair of running shoes. Sponsorships are still available at a variety of levels. Businesses interested in sponsoring should contact Kelly Chapman at firstname.lastname@example.org or 404-578-2808.
