Winners Announced for "Catch a Rising Star" Blood First Soundtrack Contest!

LOS ANGELES - May 1, 2014 - PRLog -- NaRa Films and OY's Spotlite Entertainment are pleased to announce that Chuck Quorlion and Daamin of Familio Media Group are the winners of the "Catch a Rising Star" Blood First Soundtrack Contest. Daamin and Chuck submitted the song, Keep It Blood First, produced by DMVDRDRE. The rap song strongly impressed the judges with its' lyrics, music and overall high production value.

The Maryland based duo heard about the contest through a friend and once they saw the trailer for the film knew that they had to be a part of what they describe as the "Blood First movement." Chuck says, "I see a lot of opportunities ahead of me and the movie actually runs hand in hand with my life story. I strongly believe it will open lots of doors for me so I can be able to advance my career and move to the next level as an artist."

The "Catch a Rising Star" Blood First Soundtrack Contest was designed for emerging artists and music producers to have their music featured on the Blood First soundtrack next to seasoned artists and music producers such as Drumma Boy, Project Pat, 8ball, MJG, and Big Krit.  Contestants were asked to submit original music of any genre based on the plot and trailer of the film Blood First and a panel of judges (which includes the producers of Blood First, professional musicians and celebrity guest artists) selected one track to be featured on the soundtrack.

The film Blood First chronicles the lives of two brothers who haphazardly follow their father's footsteps into a dangerous life of crime and violence. When faced with serving lengthy prison sentences for their crimes one brother chooses to cooperate with the prosecution while the other does not, testing the meaning of loyalty, honor and blood. The film’s non-linear storytelling fluidly mixes the past with the present as audiences experience what events occurred in their lives to make these men who they are today. Blood First is distributed by eOne and NSUC and has been rated R by the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA).
