HALESWORTH, U.K. - May 1, 2014 - PRLog -- A 2013 survey found that 3/4 of clients surveyed consider themselves to be loyal to their STYLIST rather than their salon and yet until now there was no way to review or recommend a stylist online… the review sites out there only allow visitors to review a salon, which means that good stylists/therapists are not recognised and bad ones aren’t highlighted either!

In the same survey 74% of women surveyed prioritise recommendation and ‘on trend’ hairdressing when making their salon choice - people want to know where is good to go and who is good to see depending on their individual needs.

Review sites such as TripAdvisor are growing in popularity and in TripAdvisor’s case they have over 100million reviews on the site.  A survey on why people write reviews found that 90% of people like to write a review to help others make good decisions.

New site Beauty Hum (www.BeautyHum.com) addresses this need to be able to review the person who gave you the experience rather than the salon, allowing clients to rate their experiences with the individual.

It has now been 8 months since the site went live (July 9^th 2013), there are over 520 professionals on the site from across the UK, Ireland and the USA (ok, only 2 in the USA, but it’s a start!), plus over 300 reviews.  Hair, beauty and makeup professionals can add themselves to the site for free or choose to create a premium profile for only £5/month and their clients can also suggest they be added.

Entrepreneur Lara Solomon, started Beauty Hum after moving back from Sydney to Brighton and found finding a good hairdresser and beautician to be a challenge, despite friend’s recommendations/special offers/reviews of salons the professionals she saw were not right, or didn’t offer a good enough service.  After Lara heard her Mum also complain of the same situation (in her case she moved from France to Suffolk) Lara decided that there was an opportunity here – not only to help consumers find a great stylist, therapist or makeup artist, but also to help promote great professionals.
