Artists Wanted for Waynesville Second Saturday Street Faire

May 1, 2014 - PRLog -- Waynesville's Second Saturday Street Faire will again host a Chalk Walk Competition on June 14th, 2014. The competition is open to all artists of all ages and levels of skill. There is no entry fee but artists must register in order to be eligible to compete for the prizes.

Prizes will be based upon the number of contestants entering: 25 or more contestants: 1st Place $250, 2nd place $100, 3rd place $50, People’s Choice Ribbon; 10-24 contestants: 1st Place $200, 2nd place $100, 3rd place $50, People’s Choice Ribbon; Less than 10 contestants: 1st Place $125, 2nd place $100, 3rd place $50, People’s Choice Ribbon. The competition will have a requirement of a minimum of six (6) competitors in order for prizes to be awarded. If fewer than 6 applicants are registered, the competition will be postponed and the contest will be held the following month at the Street Faire. If the minimum requirements are still not met by the September Street Faire, contest will be cancelled and no prizes awarded.

June competition is Chalk Art. July competition is Quick Draw. August completion is Plein Air. September competition is Photography.

Booth spaces are also available for artists who wish to display and sell their works. Space fees are $25 per month or $75 for a summer pass for those who can attend all 4 summer events. Dates for 2014 are June 14, July 12, Aug. 9, and Sept. 13.

Second Saturday Street Faire is hosted by the Waynesville Merchants Association and funded in part by a grant from the Ohio Arts Council as well as donations from Waynesville's business community.
