SYDNEY - April 30, 2014 - PRLog -- AFA Excellence in Education Awards celebrate professionalism in financial advice

Head of Asteron Life,

Jordan Hawke, is rallying advisers to aim for higher levels of professionalism by investing in ongoing education, implementing learnings into their work and building businesses that create long term customer value.

"Asteron Life is proud to partner with the Association of Financial Advisers Excellence in Education Award for the seventh consecutive year. We’re passionate about excellence in education and believe continually improving the professionalism of the industry helps drive a positive consumer perception of the advice industry", Mr Hawke said.

"The Award identifies talented advisers who invest in their development and contribute significantly to their community through quality advice. Advisers do an incredible job helping Australians make better decisions for their financial future and this Award is a great way to celebrate the profession.

"I ask advisers to demonstrate to the community their professional excellence and nominate themselves for the Award.

The Award recognises advisers’ commitment to and excellence in advice, and how they apply knowledge and learnings into their:

Practice

Industry, and

Community

Victorian financial planner Anne Graham and Managing Director of McPhail HLG Financial Planning,

won last year’s AFA Excellence in Education Award.

"Anne was recognised for her exceptional level of commitment to education and professional development over a 30 year career in financial services. She demonstrated the ability to take technical advice and practical knowledge and transfer that into her business, resulting in a positive difference to her clients’ future," Mr Hawke said.

"Importantly, her mission is to encourage other advisers to continue their ongoing education to ensure advisers continue to raise the bar within their profession".

Head of Campus AFA, Nick Hakes said, "The Award captures the essential ingredients of professionalism: education + attitude + behaviour + standards and also demonstrates the AFA's ongoing commitment to education.

"We want to showcase adviser excellence in the conversations that take place between them and their clients every day. At the very heart of this relationship is the application of education and the empowerment that financial education brings to the lives of consumers."
