Congressman Michael Burgess, M.D. (R-TX) to Speak at Upcoming FARW Meeting
Congressman Burgess will speak on the impact of Obamacare during the monthly luncheon.
Congressman Burgess spent close to three decades practicing medicine in North Texas. Since 2003, Congressman Burgess has served the constituents of the 28th District in the US House of Representatives where he currently serves on the House Energy and Commerce. Congressman Burgess is a fiscal conservative who follows a strict adherence to the Constitution. In addition, he opposes unnecessary expansion of the federal government’s control over American’s freedoms.
"FARW is very excited to welcome Congressman Burgess as our speaker this month,” said Terri Miller, President of FARW. “Congressman Burgess is a doctor who has written numerous articles and books on Obamacare and is one of our leading voices in the US Congress who knows the impact of this healthcare program. He will share his insights into the challenges of implementing it.”
n addition, Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst is expected to make a special appearance at the upcoming event. Since 2003, Dewhurst has served as Lieutenant Governor and President of the Texas Senate where he has championed legislation to create new jobs and expand economic opportunity, ensure public safety and improve public and higher education.

Based in Frisco, Texas, the Frisco Area Republican Women (FARW) are dedicated to providing political information and education to the electorate as well as increasing the effectiveness of women in the course of good government through active political participation. FARW is committed to facilitating cooperation among local Republican Women’s Clubs, promoting the Republican Party principles and candidates in local state, and national elections, and supporting outreach programs through Caring For America. FARW also works to fund and award the “Shirley Melton Johnson Scholarships.”
