ShoreTel Dock Awarded Gold in the 2014 Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards

ShoreTel received top accolades for the ShoreTel Dock (http://www.shoretel.com/products/ip_phones/ShoreTel_Dock.html), competing against 400 entries from 22 nations across the Asia-Pacific region. The Stevie Awards judging panel of 100 executives recognised the ShoreTel Dock as the first-to-market business-grade product that transforms the mobile device into a desk phone. Released in mid-2013, the ShoreTel Dock is noted to have revolutionised business communications, addressing the BYOD trend by transforming iPhones® or iPads® into desk phones for the mobile generation.

Operating as a docking station for iPads and iPhones, the ShoreTel Dock replicates the desk phone experience for users with familiar handset and keypad ergonomics, ‘always-on’ power and high-quality audio performance. At the same time, it facilitates the feature-rich UC built into ShoreTel Mobility (http://www.shoretel.com/solutions/enterprise_mobility), including instant messaging, directories, buddy presence, extension dialling, web conferencing and more.

The distinctive aspect of the ShoreTel Dock is that it does not add any management or administrative overhead to the organisation and, in fact, can save hardware costs since users are able to dispense with the traditional desk phone. Also, there is no danger of obsolescence – as new features are added to ShoreTel Mobility, these are automatically facilitated via the ShoreTel Dock.

The ShoreTel Dock is a simple plug-and-play device, only requiring a power connection to operate. All the technical capabilities and functionalities are built into ShoreTel’s network-based Mobility Router and Mobility Client app running on the mobile device.

In recognition of the ShoreTel Dock’s breakthrough technology, the product also received two U.S. awards at the Midsize Enterprise Summit (MES) West 2013 XCellence Awards: Most Innovative Technology Vendor and Best Boardroom Case Study Presentation. ShoreTel also won the 2013 NetworkWorld Asia Readers’ Choice Rising Star Award in Communication and Collaboration.
