"Escape From the Legion" - Shanghaied Swede Is Forced Into the Foreign Legion in Gritty Novel
This novel is loosely based on fact and on real events. It tells the tale of a young ex-soldier plucked from a conventional life in Sweden, and how as an unwilling recruit of the FFL, he confronts the mental and physical challenges of the Legion. Tom, a young Swede in his twenties who was shanghaied into the FFL in the 1970s, survives all manner of adventures before he manages to escape.
Each authentic and vivid escapade is told in detail, mirroring the drama of real life soldiers of fortune, while spinning it into a convincing and captivating yarn. From brutality to tenderness, from the inexplicable to the inevitable, with Tom there is never a dull moment. Escape from the mundane, if only for a few hours of escapism.
