What Moms Really Want for Mother’s Day Doesn’t Cost a Dime
Moms put attending church with their kids at the top of their Mother’s Day list. The Rock Church, where families are celebrated, is going to make Sunday, May 11th, so much fun, the kids won’t dread it and will beg to return week after week.
#6. Let Mom run the remote control or pick the entertainment for the day.
#5. Give Mom a break from cooking and fix all of the meals for the day AND clean the kitchen. (Why stop there?)
#4. Tell Mom you love her, however you do it: with a hug, a note on the fridge, a letter in the mail, or a straight up, "I Love You!"
#3. Make a handmade memento: fashion a card, write a poem, take a photo, construct a photo frame, or create a memory.
#2. Share your dreams: tell her what you want to become and how you'd like your life to be when you grow up (even if you’re not sure) or share a goal you’re striving for.
What topped the list at #1, said by every Mom we asked, was that they wanted their families to attend church with them.
Jeff Knight, Lead Pastor, said, “With that in mind, we have Ron Luce, President, and Founder of Teen Mania Ministries, coming all the way from Texas, bringing a message of hope and inspiration, for all ages. As if that weren’t enough, we have special elements planned that will speak to and involve all generations. Without giving away what the kids are going to be doing, I’ll just say it’s going to be a lot of fun; a Mother’s Day every parent, some-day-parent and young person won’t want to miss and will remember for a long time.”
“Ron Luce was raised in a broken home and was a substance abuser by the time he reached high school. At age 16, he found Jesus and the life-transforming impact of Christ, inspired Ron to dedicate his life to reaching young people. He is a sought-after expert on teen issues and the influences of pop culture. He speaks around the world and has authored or co-authored 35 bookshelping parents and pastors understand the plight of today’s youth, showing them how all of us can be part of the solution. We are honored and super-excited that Ron will be at our church on our special day honoring Moms.” – Rory Tongg, Operations Pastor
