-- The Book Club of the Good Samaritan Church is hosting members of the Authors Guild of Tennessee next Sunday, May 4, between the 8:30 and 11:00 services in their Hensley Hall. The authors who will be signing their books are: Bob Cranny, Jody Dyer, Kath Fearing, BJ Gillum, Marilyn Smith Neilans, Don Pardue, Cheryl Peyton, Marilyn Mae Randall, and Bobbi Wolverton.
Their more than 30 titles include true-life tales, family stories, mysteries, thrillers, thoughts in verse, and children's books.
Bob Cranny has written two moving novels of life in Ireland in the 1950s about which the "Irish Times" wrote, "[Bob Cranny's] dialogue is the truest since Joyce's 'A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man.' This is an astonishing debut." Jody Dyer has written about her experiences in adopting a child with humor and insights. Kath Fearing writes both beautiful adult verse and children's books. BJ Gillum and Cheryl Peyton write light-hearted murder mysteries. Don Pardue has written 4 novels about growing up in East Tennessee. Marilyn Smith Neilans has written a warm, real account of her family's dealing with the death of their mother. Marilyn Mae Randall has written delightful children's books and Bobbi Wolverton has written an entertaining account of her years as an international flight attendant in the golden age of air travel, late 1960s-1970s.
The public is invited. Come and meet the authors and learn about these special books. And books make a special gift for Mother's Day.
