Palm Coast, FL - LT Nicholas Pena, son of Diane and Scott Nieminen of Palm Coast FL, has reported to his duty station at Ft Campbell KY

LT Pena, who is a graduate of the inaugural class of Matanzas High School, and was Battalion commander of its JROTC, received an Army ROTC scholarship to the University of Central Florida in Orlando in 2008.

While at the University of Central Florida, he concentrated his studies in business management and was president of Kappa Sigma fraternity.

Following graduation, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army, branching Infantry. He then completed IBOLC at Ft Benning Georgia.

Pena became a platoon leader with the 2D Battalion 502D Infantry -101ST Airborne Division (Air Assault)  LT. Pena is currently serving overseas.

“I ask that we honor Nicholas and all those who serve and have served, with the ultimate tribute - treasuring your freedom and our great nation,” said his mother Diane.
