Ground Level Ozone and Health Concerns Discussed in New Video

PHOENIX - April 27, 2014 - PRLog -- Today, the IAQ Video Network and Cochrane & Associates announced the release of their latest educational video.  Their newest production discusses ground level ozone and potential health risks.

Ozone is found in two regions of the Earth's atmosphere, at ground level and in the upper regions of the atmosphere.  Both types of ozone have the same chemical composition and while upper atmospheric ozone protects the earth from the sun's harmful rays, ground level ozone is the main component of smog and can cause health concerns.

“Ground level ozone is created by chemical reactions between oxides of nitrogen and volatile organic compounds, also commonly referred to as VOCs,” said Paul Cochrane, President of Cochrane and Associates, the company behind the IAQ Video Network and the new public outreach video.  “Even relatively low levels of ozone can cause health concerns.  People with lung disease, children, older adults and people who are active outdoors may be particularly sensitive to ozone. We hope this video helps to shed some light on ground level ozone and how it can impact people.”
