Launch Local Kicks Off Annual Summer Internship Olympics in Girard, Ohio
Launch Local is continuing to expand their Summer Internship Program and they are committed to finding new challenges each summer for their interns.
Launch Local is excited to announce the annual Summer Olympic Intern Contest.The contest (which is based on the reality television show,“Survivor”)
This year Launch Local intends to bring in nine (9) students from some of the best universities in Ohio and Western Pennsylvania including Kent State University, California University of Pennsylvania, Miami University, The University of Akron, Slippery Rock University, Walsh University, Westminster College, and Edinboro University to participate in this challenge. The students will receive a list of responsibilities to complete throughout the summer and, as participants in the “Survivor”/
At the beginning of the program, students are given a challenging opportunity to gain valuable experience in many different fields; everything from advertising and professional sales, to marketing and general business/business management, to record keeping and communications. This provides each intern with both practical and professional experience as it pertains to their education as well as challenging them on a personal level – giving them the skill-set needed to survive in a busy and growing marketing place which teaches the value of work ethic, leadership, comprehension, retention, and networking.
Launch Local keeps the competition exciting by providing each candidate daily responsibilities to keep them on task, force them outside of their comfort zones and provide them with hands-on experience. Launch Local's President and CEO, Linda Barton states: "We find this method of training keeps the student motivated and able to focus on their goals. Each intern is guaranteed to learn something new every day!"
