ATLANTA - April 24, 2014 - PRLog -- ATLANTA, GEORGIA: The anticipation of the 2014 Caribbean American Movers and Shakers has the city of Atlanta in a buzz about this year’s event. On April 18, 2014, the Caribbean Media Network made the official announcement of their 2014 charitable involvement with the international 501c3organization, Food For The Poor.

Caribbean Media Network, has partnered with Food For The Poor, as its official charity of the Caribbean American Movers and Shakers Networking Series. Food For The Poor raises funds, provides housing, food, healthcare, education, fresh water, and emergency relief throughout the Caribbean region. The Caribbean Media Network realizes the importance of giving back to the community, and forging new progressive partnerships with organizations that support the multicultural community. It’s adistinguished honor to partner with a major charity organization such as Food For The Poor. Food For The Poor, has given back to Caribbean countries such as Haiti, Jamaica, and Trinidad and Tobago. This year's series will be “Events with a Purpose”.

The 2014 list of honorees highlights the best of the city of Atlanta, Georgia. The annual recognition identifies professionals and civic minded individuals of Caribbean heritage, living in the metro Atlanta area, who have contributed to the multicultural community. The 2014 Caribbean American Movers and Shakers Networking Series include a series of networking Award events, in the prime markets of Atlanta, Georgia, New York City and Miami, Florida, throughout the year. The event will take place at the newly renovated Stir It Up Restaurant and Lounge, 84 12ST, Atlanta, GA 30309.

This year's honorees include: Oscar Nominated and Grammy Award Winning Platinum Producer Mr. Leslie Brathwaite, Producer of the Real Housewives of Atlanta Ms. Princess Banton, Former Honorary Consul of Jamaica Vin Martin, Black Latino Council Atlanta Ms. Tina Hart, Director of Operations WRFG 89.3 FM Mr. Wanique Shabazz, Southern Division President of Home Depot Ms. Ann-Marie Campbell, President of Panton Capital Holdings David Panton, President of Georgia Association of Elected Latino Officials Jerry Gonzalez, DJ and Radio Personality Chubb Rock,  Emory Healthcare Dr. Karen Godette. This year we will be recognizing our Humanitarian of the Year: Garvin Stewart- Food for the Poor, and our Lifetime Achievement Award Honorees Ms. Pola Cooper and Mr. Patrick Mc Bain, founders of the Atlanta Peach Carnival aka Atlanta Caribbean Folk Festival.
