Married Couple Opens New Business to Address Need for In-Home Care
Kevin and Lyndsay Jones have launched Home Helpers & Direct Link of Greater Howard County, MD.
Home Helpers is the nation’s leading franchise specializing in comprehensive home care for seniors, new mothers and individuals needing recuperative and continuing assistance. Direct Link is its proprietary line of 24/7 medical alert systems, including a fall sensor, automated medication dispenser and vital signs monitoring units.
Kevin, who has an MBA, brings more than 12 years of experience in healthcare to the new business. Lyndsay is a Certified Senior Advisor and understands the need for healthcare businesses that aid the aging population.
“Home Healthcare is quickly emerging as an affordable, healthy alternative to assisted living and skilled nursing communities,”
“Opening the business as a couple was a great choice for us because Lyndsay and I work well together. I’m the big picture person and she’s very attuned to details – it works well for us to have this partnership,”
Each individual client receives services tailored to meet their specific needs, by caregivers who become an extension of their family. Home Helper's full-range of home care services empower clients to live healthier and more rewarding lives in the privacy, safety, and comfort of their own homes.
“At Home Helpers, we can create a care plan to fit exactly what a person or a family is looking for, especially with the customizable combination of home care and assisted technology. And, as a person’s needs change, which they will, we’ll be there,” Kevin said.
Home Helpers & Direct Link offers free in-home consultations and works with each client to create a flexible, affordable care plan based on a person’s individual needs. Services offered include companionship, personal hygiene, meal preparation and transportation as well as medical services such as medication management, vital signs monitoring and care management.
“Home Helpers gives clients the best of both worlds. We are part of a national company with 600 offices nationwide, but we’re also a locally owned and operated franchise. We have the power and resources of a successful national business, but also the experience and personal attention only a local business can provide,” Kevin said.
