One of the delights of this book is the author’s vivid imagining of the world where the characters find love, adventure and loss. Not only does Lauren inspire our imagination through her words, but her illustrations capture key scenes in the story, be they moments of dread, passion or triumph. On her decision to illustrate her own novel, Lauren explained: “I contemplated being an artist, but images alone weren’t enough to tell the stories I wanted to tell, so I decided: why not try both?”
Commenting on the release, Greyhart Press publisher Tim C. Taylor said: “We’ve previously published several novels with a strong strand of romance but nothing where it is so centre stage as ‘Memories & Murder’. Underneath a fun layer of light-hearted sexual banter, Lauren has written one of the most compelling love stories I’ve ever read. With lesser authors, the fact that the principle romance is between two male characters could so easily have been held up as an issue. Lauren doesn’t make their love an issue; she makes it inevitable. And that is beautiful.”
Like all good adventures there is more to ‘Memories & Murder’ than friendships, romance, and fighting monsters. There’s a dark betrayal driving this quest, and those who survive it will never be the same again.
‘The Lineage of Tellus Book1 – Memories & Murder’, a high fantasy novel for fans of adventure, dry wit, and broad sexuality, is published April 24th 2014 in paperback (ISBN 978-1-909636-
