Southern Ocean County Chamber awards eight grants at May 13 Business Luncheon
The Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce continues to celebrate their 100th Anniversary by giving back to organizations and events that make Long Beach Island Region a better place.
The Board of Directors have approved Spring/Summer funding cycle that includes grants to support Township of Ocean Founder’s Day, NJ Sea Grant Rain Barrel sponsorship, Red White & Blue Committee Beach Haven Fireworks, American Cancer Society Manahawkin Relay for Life, Our Gang Players 2014 season, Jetty Rock Foundation 6th Annual Coquina Jam, ESA Northeast Regional Surf Championship, and the Marine Mammal Stranding Center Ocean County Education Program. Representatives have been invited to receive checks as part of the program which will also feature the new Community Garden effort.
The Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce members raise funds through their volunteer efforts and support of Chowderfest Weekend. The Southern Ocean County Chamber reviews grant proposals three times per year and funds dozens of organizations, high school scholarships, business education events and operates of a year round visitor center at 265 West Ninth Street in Ship Bottom.
