Hiring Today’s Students: Equals6 Releases 2014 Student Recruitment Report
Nearly 6000 students surveyed about job searching, career goals and expectations. Report focuses on mobile and social media in the workplace, salary expectations and more.
“As a company that helps employers connect with top students, we recognized that recruiters need to understand the motivations and expectations of today’s students,” said Andy Osburn, CEO of Equals6, “We conducted this survey to give employers the information they need to more effectively recruit students and recent grads.”
Equals6 surveyed high school, college and university students about career choices and what influences their decisions. The report focuses on four main areas: The job search, mobile technology and social media in the workplace, skills development and training, and motivators and compensation. Among the findings:
• 91% of those surveyed would relocate for work
• 46% expect access to social media while at work
• 86% consider more practical job experience to be key for career preparation
According to Peter Moorhouse, Vice-President, People at T4G, the report contains valuable information for recruitment professionals. "At T4G we are always looking for talented and motivated students. Having had the opportunity to preview the report, I found real insight into students' career expectations. I would recommend this report to any organization seeking to attract and retain students and recent grads."
Equals6’ annual recruitment survey was conducted from January through February 2014. A total of 5,977 high school, college and university students took part. The report is available free of charge at http://www.equals6.com/
