Miles Technologies Earns Healthiest Employer Award By Philadelphia Business Journal
Miles Technologies is a 2014 Healthiest Employer of the Greater Philadelphia Region. The award-winning firm earned recognition for its workplace wellness activities, company bikes and fully stocked employee kitchen.
The award-winning IT, business software, online marketing and web design firm, which employs more than 130 full-time professionals at its Moorestown headquarters, earned recognition for its progressive efforts to encourage and support workplace wellness, including the company’s employee bikes, free healthy food choices available daily, routine team exercises and progressive wellness support initiatives, including rewards for smoking cessation.
“Wellness is very important to our entire team,” reports Chris Miles, CEO, Miles Technologies. “Our philosophy is that a workforce that is encouraged and supported in healthy choices and activities will be a better, stronger and more cohesive workforce.”
The company earned a spotlight by the Courier-Post last year for its fully stocked kitchen, including an industrial fridge loaded with juices, fruits, cheeses, meats, eggs and vegetables – available to all staff members at all times and at no cost to the workforce. Additionally, the company supplies bikes to any team members that may want to take a bike break during the work day. The company also motivates its employees to stay fit and active by doing workout breaks during the business day to encourage physical activity – and team spirit.
According to the Philadelphia Business Journal, companies recognized as 2014 Healthiest Employers in the Greater Philadelphia region have one thing in common: Progressive thinking. They realize that a healthy workforce is not only more productive, but drives down the cost of health insurance. The 2014 Healthiest Employers will be honored at a special breakfast event on Thursday, June 5, at Thomas Jefferson University.
The Philadelphia Business Journal will publish a special section devoted to its 2014 Healthiest Employers on June 6. Companies in small (less than 100 employees) to extra large (1,000 or more employees) will be featured for wellness initiatives, including office gyms, weight loss competitions, smoking cessation initiatives and free screenings.
