KQCK's Rock and Roll 101 features new Bobby Vee CD - The Adobe Sessions
After Alzheimer's diagnosis in January of 2011, 1960s teen idol records a "musical family scrapbook" released on CD on April 15. Online oldies show will feature selected tracks.
This week, Jeff Vee - son of 1960s legend Bobby Vee - is interviewed by Daniel, who will play seven select tracks from Bobby's new CD, The Adobe Sessions. The segment also includes some of Bobby Vee's big hits and some near-misses from his long career at Liberty/UA Records.
In the second segment, Rock & Roll 101 remembers Easter weekend with a selection of non-secular rock, featuring The Doobie Brothers, Murray Head & The Trinidad Singers, Sister Janet Mead, The Edwin Hawkins Singers, The Crusaders, The Highwaymen, Stevie Wonder and more.
The Vintage Tunedex features New Musical Express's Top 10 for the week of April 20, 1969.
