New Teen Comedy "Multiplexing" Brings Director Savage Steve Holland Back to the Big Screen
Wayne 6 Entertainment's Movie Theater-Set Comedy Readies for a Summer Shoot
Multiplexing traces a rag-tag group of teens working at a small town movie theater. As a promotional stunt, the studio behind a summer blockbuster plans to premiere its film there, in the lead actress's home town, and in preparation for the big day, the theater manager looks to replace his crew of slackers, slobs and smart-alecks with an all new staff. Finally motivated, the group must outwit their tyrannical boss so they can hold their jobs for the biggest event their dull suburb has ever seen.
Wayne 6 Entertainment producers Mike Massotto and David Crump will be joined by Mark Heidelberger (It's Not You It's Me) and Salvatore/Ornston's Richard Salvatore (The Big Wedding), along with associate producer John V. Barbieri. Joey Paul Jensen (Soul Surfer) is the casting director for the picture set to shoot this summer in northern New Jersey.
“Whether it's Project X, Mean Girls, American Pie or The Breakfast Club, the teen movies of each generation remain impactful and near and dear to those who grew up with them,” says Massotto. “What sets Multiplexing apart is its modern story and unique characters, and the fact that it also pays homage to the John Hughes films and other classics from the golden age of teen comedy.”
