Silver Sycamore Named 2014 Business of the Year

Pasadena, TX- Locally owned events center and restaurant, Silver Sycamore, was named by the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce as Pasadena’s Business of the Year for 2014.

Silver Sycamore was created by Gary and Jackie Spigener and opened their doors November 2005. The grounds consist of a restaurant, event venue, bed & breakfast, and across the street is a coffee house. The restaurant serves lunch Monday thru Friday 11-2, and the weekends are reserved for showers, birthdays, or any kind of party for less than forty people. The reception hall sits fifty and more, and is used for weddings, banquets, or any kind of large party.

The Spigener’s have taken a once depleted area of Golden Acres and brought it back to life. They left the old homes as they were and just reused materials to bring it to operational standards. They wanted to make sure to keep the vintage look of the area, and restore the history of the city.

Jackie stated that Gary and her are very honored to receive this award, and they appreciate the support they have gotten so far. They are hoping to turn the area into an Arts & Entertainment district, but one thing at a time they say.
