CLEVELAND - April 17, 2014 - PRLog -- Cleveland, OH – Zounds Hearing (http://www.zoundscleveland.com/) will open its second Greater Cleveland area hearing aid store on April 21, 2014 at Key Bank Plaza, 1396 Som Center Road (next to Scrambler Marie’s), Mayfield Heights, Ohio. One of the fastest growing hearing aid franchise companies in the United States, Zounds Hearing designs, manufactures and retails affordable, high-performance hearing aids that address mild-to-profound hearing loss. Over the next two years,  Zounds Hearing store owner and Shaker Heights entrepreneur, Glenn Harbold plans to open four additional Zounds Hearing retail stores throughout the Greater Cleveland area.

About  Zounds Hearing
Zounds founder, Sam Thomasson, an electrical engineer based in Mesa, Arizona, began to develop the Zounds power hearing aid to help his daughter, Kate who at age 2, lost most of her hearing because of a sudden high fever. At age 16, Kate received the first prototype of the Zounds power hearing aid and her life was changed forever. For the first time, she could truly hear the sound of music. Thomasson founded Zounds Hearing in 2005 and holds 57 patents for the technologies he developed to resolve his daughter’s hearing aid issues.

About  Zounds Cleveland
Glenn Harbold, a Shaker Heights resident and engineer by training, was impressed with Thomasson’s story. Harbold holds an M.B.A. from the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Cornell University. “I’m inspired by Sam’s passion to bring affordable, quality hearing to more people by bringing down the price of these top technologies,” says Harbold.  “Zounds hearing aids are priced between $1,800-3,800 per pair, which is about half the price of other premium brands. “

Located in shopping plazas with easy access for seniors, the Zounds Hearing store in Mayfield Heights will offer appointments, Monday through Friday,  9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with other appointments by request.

“Our fitting experience is thorough but comfortable,” says Harbold. “Our clients really like our warm environment and convenience compared to other exams in a large, hospital setting or a noisy warehouse. We really give the client a very personal experience. “

Dr. Beverly A. Goldstein, Ph.D, an audiologist with more than 40 years of experience in hearing care will work with Zounds Cleveland clients to find the best hearing aid products to meet each individual’s specific hearing loss.

Goldstein holds a Bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing and a Master’s degree in Audiology.  She earned her Doctorate in Audiology from Kent State University. Beverly is also a Zounds client. She developed hearing loss in graduate school and underwent surgery to restructure her right middle ear-bones. Goldstein wears hearing aids today and says her Zounds Imprezo 20T rechargeable hearing aids have “the best frequency response of any instruments I have personally worn.”

Zounds Hearing has helped thousands of people with hearing loss continue to live life the fullest, using the industry’s best prices, proprietary technology and excellent client service.
