FORT GARLAND, Colo. - April 18, 2014 - PRLog -- Meet Harlyn and Dawn, they are living proof of what can be achieved when you put your mind to it. They started their Aquaponics system with a 55 gallon fish tank and a 33 gallon storage container.  They had their challenges along the way, but the end result was worth the effort.

In a former issue of the ASC magazine Harlyn and Dawn shared their experiences. The couple decided to grow a herb garden in their small AP system. Here’s what they had to say; “After about two months the plants went on an explosive growth spurt. We were cutting 3 inches off the basil every week. The fennel and tarragon weren’t far behind”.

Harlyn and Dawn believe the reason for their success is because they kept it simple. By starting small and ironing out the problems along the way they were able to understand the principles behind growing food in an AP System.

Keeping it simple is one of the best ways to learn about growing food in an Aquaponics system. Lots of newcomers can avoid costly mistakes by following the example of Harlyn and Dawn. Start small, keep it simple and learn along the way.
