Pathbuilders Celebrates 25th Achieva® Class Graduation

ATLANTA - April 16, 2014 - PRLog -- Women from 31 companies graduated from the 25th Pathbuilders Achieva® program on April 15, 2014.  A year-long curriculum focused on high-impact leadership, Achieva prepares participants to navigate their organization’s culture and politics, build executive presence, and lead their company toward greater success.  The result is a highly customized experience that challenges members through personal one-on-one mentoring supported by rich content, dialog and a strong peer network.

“These women are tenured professionals who are well-respected and celebrated for all that they have achieved for their companies,” says Helene Lollis, president of Pathbuilders.  “We are proud to make a difference in today’s organizations by developing women who are passionate about driving change and making success happen both within their workplaces and communities.”

Achieva focuses on guiding emerging executive women ready to contribute at a higher level toward becoming authentic high-impact leaders.  These teachings are further reinforced within their mentoring partnership, a professional experience that challenges the mentee to dramatically expand her perspective and immediately implement her newfound knowledge within her workplace.  Mid-level executives are paired with senior-level mentors and are guided toward building a powerful executive presence.

Five alumnae from the program were honored during the graduation with the Pathbuilders Inspiria® Award – an award given to women who continue to excel as leaders in their organizations; inspire others around them; and who support the practice of mentoring.  Honorees included:  Cathy Callaway Adams, EVP and COO at Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta; Ena Shaw, AVP of Customer Service for AT&T Corporation; LeighAnn Costley, Partner & Head of Tax at Frazier & Deeter; Karstin Bodell, Vice President of General Business Marketing at IBM; and Audra Dial, Atlanta Office Managing Partner at Kilpatrick Townsend.

The award for the Mentor of the Year was presented to Daniela Campari, VP of Client Services and External Innovation at Venadar, as a mentor who has gone above and beyond to help her mentee accomplish her identified goals and objectives.

“Daniela was one of my first calls when I encountered a challenging situation at work,” said Joey Nord, Senior Manager of Internal Communications at McKesson Corporation, of her mentor.  “The principles we had discussed were no longer academic.  I had an opportunity to put into practice some of the things we’d been working on together in real-time – from improving my strategic thinking to learning how to position my strengths to a new set of stakeholders who knew very little about my experience.”

An outstanding menteewas also recognized at the ceremony.  Judy Train, VP of Product Development and Management at Cox Communications nominated Madeleine “Mat” McLean, Director of Process Safety Management at Colonial Pipeline, who was awarded with the Mentee of the Year award.

“Mat’s investment in the mentee-mentor partnership was demonstrated by the preparation she took to make each of our meetings successful,” shared Train.  “She took on a new role within the company during this past year, and I believe she’s well positioned to make the most of this position and consider taking on even more responsibility down the road.”

Women who graduate from Achieva have learned how to acquire the skills, status, responsibilities and respect that define a true executive. “Several women were promoted during the Achieva program,” Lollis stated.  “We anticipate hearing stories of prolonged success from these women as their careers progress.”
