EAST MIDLANDS, U.K. - April 16, 2014 - PRLog -- Hiring an apprentice is a great way to manage growth while investing in the future of a young person.

Apprenticeships are work-based training programmes designed around the employer’s needs. Its aims are to improve the apprentices’ skill levels, leading to nationally recognised qualification while having a beneficial impact on the host-businesses long-term performance.

Futures Apprenticeship Agency is now working alongside NBV Enterprise Solutions to help SME’s through the process of hiring their own apprentice. If you are a SME and are going through a period of growth, and would benefit from an extra pair of hands, then hiring an apprentice may be the next step.

What is Futures?

Futures Apprenticeship Agency an independent is a not for profit organisation, which provides continuous support to employers who wish to take on an apprentice.

They will do the hard work for you including: sourcing your apprentice; being responsible for the apprentices’ wages, NI and tax contributions; organising their training and development via a training provider and issuing them with an ‘Apprentice Contract of Employment.’

They will be on-hand to support you, and the apprentice, throughout the placement to ensure you both make the most out of each other.

How does it work?

It is simple.

Once you have decided how many hours you would like an apprentice to work, and how much you are willing to pay them (there is a National Apprentice minimum wage - but you can decide to pay them more) contact your business adviser at NBV and we will signpost you to Futures.

From there, they will handle all aspects of recruiting an apprentice. Once a suitable apprentice is in place, you will be invoiced monthly; the payment covering Futures service charge and the apprentice’s wage.

All you have to do is welcome the apprentice by conducting thorough induction and be responsible for their day to day management and on-site development.

Apprentices’ are hired for a minimum of 12 months, but after there is no obligation to keep your hosted apprentice. However, after a year most employers couldn’t do without them!
