Lesli Gooch, Congressional Candidate, Screams "We Are Alexandrians" to Hometown Mayor in '08 Email

Voters scratch heads at Gooch's motivation for running for Congress in California as evidence continues to mount of her loyalty to her hometown of Alexandria, Virginia (a Washington D.C. suburb).
SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - April 15, 2014 - PRLog -- Lesli Gooch once screamed "We are Alexandrians" to the mayor of her hometown, Alexandria, Virginia, in a 2008 email record obtained by San Bernardino Citizens for Public Integrity, in an attempt to protest an ethanol transloading facility.

Notable passages in the email include, "We pay taxes. We vote." and "We are Alexandrians. Please start looking out for West End Alexandria residents!!"

"Clearly, she identifies herself as a resident of this Virginia city," said Elsa Keeling, a San Bernardino voter and president of the San Bernardino Citizens for Public Integrity. "I still can't figure out why she is running for Congress all the way out here in California. I don't know if living here when you were a kid is really the best qualifier."

The email was sent from Gooch's home email address (lesli.mcgooch@comcast.net) to the mayor, vice mayor, and city council members of the city of Alexandria, Virginia, where Gooch is a resident. The email can be viewed here: http://dockets.alexandriava.gov/fy08/062408rm/di29.pdf.

"An apology with no immediate action does nothing to protect my family or my community," Gooch wrote. "I would expect all of you to attend the rally."

"Her tone seems pushy, almost belligerent," Keeling said. "She comes across as really bossy."

The San Bernardino Citizens For Public Integrity (SBCPI) is a community action group of citizen volunteers formed in 2010 in response to a surge in public corruption allegations around San Bernardino.
