Santa Claus Loves A Good 'Shroom
Santa Claus has a diverse palette and loves a good mushroom as much as anyone. And when an entire festival is built around this delicacy, well then Santa Claus must make an appearance!
Actually Santa is none other than the author Joe Moore, of the increasingly popular series called the Santa Claus Trilogy. He will be making an appearance at the Arts & Crafts area of the festival in Irvine on April 26th and 27th.
Moore has written and published the trilogy, with the third novel having been just released this year. He not only writes about Santa Claus and his village, but he spends the last two months of the year portraying Santa all over the Southeast in his custom made suits. Moore is an expert in all things Santa Claus and does interviews as Santa discussing events in the North Pole, including discussion of reindeer and elves and hot Christmas toys for kids.
The Mountain Mushroom Festival is a celebration of the morel mushroom and Kentucky agates presented by the City of Irvine and the Mushroom Festival Committee. These groups provide a weekend of free entertainment and activities for everyone from cooking demonstrations to 5K walk/runs, parades, cake decorating and of course one-of-a-kind arts and crafts treasures.
Santa (Moore) will be there to sell and autograph his books which consist of the following three novels:
Believe Again, The North Pole Chronicles begins the trilogy by showing how the elves and the North Pole came into being. It actually takes place from the late 18th century and proceeds through the generations and centuries until modern time. It shows how the elves chose Santa Claus and how the various legends came to exist.
Faith, Hope & Reindeer is a present day snapshot of a week in the North Pole where several families that are struggling to do good have lost their faith and hope from the problems of their lives. They receive an all-expense paid vacation but they don't know their final destination. They end up in the North Pole where Santa and the village restore their faith and hope and they learn that miracles still exist. This book is currently being planned as a major motion picture scheduled for Christmas, 2015
The third book changes everything, says Moore, Santa's North Pole is melting and he and the residents of their North Pole Village have to find a new home before the village crashes into the Arctic Ocean. He promises that Glaciers Melt & Mountains Smoke will change the Santa Claus legend for all time.
