Keyes Company Announces Plans to Donate $2,000 to Charity for Every Million-Dollar Property Sold

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. - April 15, 2014 - PRLog -- Keyes Company, a luxury real estate agency located in the greater Miami area, has long been viewed as a trusted player in the housing market game. Now, its latest promotion suggests that it will be thought of as a generous one for years to come, too.

That's because of a new contest brainstormed by Realtor® Associate David McChesney currently being offered through his Keyes Company practice. If a buyer purchases property valued at $1 million or more, McChesney has pledged to donate $2,000 to a charity of the buyer's choosing. This offer currently has no expiration date.

McChesney says he was affected by last fall's horrendous typhoon in the Philippines which killed more than 6,000 people, injured nearly 30,000, and destroyed millions of homes. The typhoon led to just under 4 million people being displaced throughout the country. McChesney lists UNICEF (United Nations Children's Fund) as his charity of choice because of the organization's transparency, as it always discloses exactly who it supports with its collected donations. In addition, UNICEF helps rebuild ravaged homes and provide educational resources for children whose homes have been leveled by natural disasters.

Observing the impact of homelessness has had great influence on McChesney's decision. "I've witnessed a lot of people throughout the world and in the United States suffer from homelessness, unemployment and hardship," McChesney says. "This was also a contributing factor in our decision to make these charitable contributions with the sale of any million-dollar property."

McChesney says that real estate agents tend to get a bad reputation because of the public's perception that they're only interested in closing a sale. The reality, he asserts, is much different. "People often have a mistrust of Realtors® because they think that it is all about the money," McChesney says. "However, I highly value my customers and believe in contributing to the community in many ways other than purchasing and selling homes for people worldwide."
